Over the centuries, the slow movement of glaciers has sculpted some of the most extraordinary geological patterns on Earth. As glaciers form and retreat, they expose and displace fertile soil. In this process, many of the felled trees are preserved as subfossils and pushed into the glacier moraine, the dense mass of sediment that a glacier deposits on its outer edge. The Montblanc Iced Sea Automatic Date 0 Oxygen Limited Edition timepiece pays homage to this special geological formation which is also found in the Mer de Glace, the largest glacier in the Mont Blanc Massif. It features an incredible unique dial with thousand-year-old subfossil wood fragments from the Mer de Glace that were preserved while trapped in glacial ice. This limited edition of 700 pieces is housed in a 41mm totally oxygen-free stainless steel case with a unidirectional rotating bezel with laser-lowered brown ceramic insert for 0 to 15 minutes, an embossed case back and an interchangeable stainless steel bracelet with refined adjustments. The timepiece offers water resistance up to 300 meters.
